Superemos Annual Report for 2017
General
On July 24th 2018 the Superemos Foundation received visit from Dr. John Godoy, a Swedish optometrist. He gave a training workshop to 11 health promoters from Estelí about eye screenings. The goal is that the health promoters are able to select people with eye problems and refer them to an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
Dr. Godoy also coordinated with the municipal authorities from Estelí to do eye exams and provide glasses to the population from Estelí for a symbolic contribution.
On July 23rd 2018 the domestic violence prevention program visited La Quinta, a rural community in the East of Estelí. They gave talks to children from the local primary school about prevention of sexual abuse.

On July 7th 2018, at the end of the first semester, Sones Segovianos held a concert with performances by the dance, music and painting students.

Teachers and children from the music, dance and art project Sones Segovianos express their appreciation for the support they receive from their friends in Sheffield (U.K.), with whom they are twinned here in Estelí.
May 30th is Mother's Day in Nicaragua. The women students from the Estelí women's school celebrated this day on May 29th with a meal and cake.

On May 24th the domestic violence prevention program went to a meeting with nurses from the municipality of Estelí in the municipal health center "Leonel Rugama". The goal was to improve the coordination with the different health posts to screen and give follow up to cases of domestic violence in rural communities.
