This many-faceted project aims to:
promote training for unemployed people, especially women and girls, in poor urban areas of Estelí, nearby rural communities
generate income for the cooperative
boost participants' self-respect, self-esteem and aspirations in life
educate participants in “skills for life”, including nutrition, awareness of human rights and family planning.

Sewing classes
![]() Sewing instructor Lilliam Sosa has given classes in small communities around Estelí since 2005. After training dozens of local
women in and around Estelí, Lilliam now works with a
few more advanced students trying to develop a product range that will
generate income for the cooperative.
