The annual medical delegation from Boston began work on February 9th this year visiting local communities in the municpality of Estelí. The group has had three main components, a women's health team working in the local health centre, a dental team working in the brand new dental clinic that opened in Estelí main health centre this year and the third group of medical professionals and students working mainly out in local villages, but also in a couple of low income barrios on the outskirts of Estelí. We are very grateful to Boston University School of Dental Medicine, to Dr. Loren Wilson and Dr. Maria Vasilakis and Dr. Larry Molina for organizing the dental group, to Dr. Kirsten Meisinger and her colleagues for organizing the women's health group and above all to Dr. Peter Loewinthan who has coordinated and fundraised tirelessly for these annual medical delegations since 1999 together with his many colleagues at Boston's Dorchester House Multi Service Center.
