Through July and August, Superemos worked with local institutions including the Ministry of the Family, Adolescents and Children to organize a series of five workshops helping participants develop better techniques to assist in the resolution of family conflicts. The workshops were coordinated with the Ministry of the Family by the ICES programme which is an initiative supported by Superemos to address domestic violence. It is funded by the Central American Fund for Human Development of Illinois,USA and the Dorchester House Multi Service Center of Boston, USA. The workshops were given by psychologist Gioconda Ordoñez from the local campus of Nicaragua's National Autonomous University. Gioconda was assisted by Karen Villarreyna, Maria Felix Castillo and Alba Peralta of the ICES programme.
