Dance - practicing to perform El Güegüense

Young students of the Sones Segovias dance classes in Estelí Nicaragua, practice steps with teacher Seidy Ubeda for the traditional dances that are part of El Güegüense, Nicaragua's world famous work of theatre embodying indigenous satirical resistance to colonial rule.The school has already prepared the elaborate costumes and masks that make this work so unique.

Art skills - painting programme

Here are some photographs of the work of the young children participating in the art skills painting programme of the "Christine King" Multi Service Cooperative. A total of 16 children between the ages of 5 and 14 participate in the programme taught by Alan Parrales and Francisca Valdivia at the Superemos education centre. This project is made possible by funding from Casa Canadiense.

Remodelling work in preparation for 2016

In late November, we started work on the remodelling programme in preparation for 2016. The main task is to completely remodel the lower classroom area so as create a raised wooden deck for the dance classes and connect that area to the middle classroom area with access isolated from the training workshop, which we use mainly for metal work and solar panel trainings.
