On Saturday March 29th the local municipal authority and local offices of government ministries organized a concert for Mothers' Day. The concert was attended by hundreds of invited mothers from all over Estelí. As part of the activity, students of the music education project supported by Superemos took part helped by the two educators organizing the project, Hannah Given Wilson and Alfredo Quintero. |

The end of the school year is an important time for the children in the pre-schools that Superemos supports and also for the women students of our Adult Baccalaureate programme. For the pre-school children the year end marks their progress to the next level of their education, while for the women secondary education students, their year end is bound up with the anxiety of pending exam results.
| The bakery's new area was funded by the Central American Fund for Human Development. The building work finished in early June. The project has been in operation for about three months now. Several local people with baking skills use the facility to produce various kinds of breads and pastries for sale by the cooperative. One of the bakers travels from Palacaguina, about 60 kilometres away, twice a week to earn some valuable supplementary income. |
